This guide is about the fall events happening in Ennis and Italy, Texas this season. If you are new to the area or just looking for a reason to get out, these local gatherings are the best way to meet neighbors, support small businesses, and feel how connected this corner of Ellis County really is.

Update, October 26, 2026: The Stars of Texas Music Festival and Ennis Autumn Daze have both wrapped for this year. A haunted hay maze runs on the evenings of October 29 through 31 in downtown Ennis, and the Bluebonnet Market continues Saturdays through the end of October.

Where to find fresh local produce this fall

The Ennis Bluebonnet Market is the town's Saturday farmers market, and it runs through October each year, from 8:00 AM to noon. You will find it at 119 N Dallas Street in downtown Ennis. Vendors bring seasonal produce, baked goods and handmade items, and it is a comfortable, walkable market where you can shop local and still be home before lunch.

Stars of Texas Music Festival at Texas Motorplex

From October 9 through 11, the Stars of Texas Music Festival returns to the Texas Motorplex at 7500 US-287 in Ennis. Expect a weekend of live music and racing, with lantern releases adding a memorable evening touch. It is one of the bigger events of the fall season in the area, so check the festival schedule as the date approaches.

Ennis Autumn Daze and the Pumpkin Patch

The signature family event of the season is Ennis Autumn Daze, held October 24 and 25 in historic downtown Ennis. Expect a hay maze, a pumpkin patch, carnival rides, live music, pumpkin painting, and plenty of food and shopping vendors. Admission is free, with rides and games paid separately.

For the whole month of October, the Ennis Pumpkin Patch and Hay Maze runs Thursdays through Sundays, with a haunted maze and carnival around Halloween. It is an easy, family-friendly outing just minutes from 917 Goodwyn Rd.

Community happenings in Italy, Texas

Italy sits just south of Ennis, and its Chamber of Commerce is the place to watch for local gatherings, from school events through Ennis ISD to holiday kickoffs as winter approaches. Many of these smaller events are shared on the chamber and city pages rather than in big festival guides, so checking there is the best way to keep up with what is planned.

Why events matter when you are choosing where to live

When Shannon and Scott Miles help buyers look at a home, the surrounding community matters as much as the house. Events like these tell you what a town values and how neighbors treat each other. Coming out to a fall festival is a real way to test whether a place feels like home before you ever make an offer.
